CDR Paige A. Keenan, USCG

The Director of Auxiliary (DIRAUX) is charged with the active promotion and administration of Auxiliary affairs in the district and for compliance with instructions and directives governing the Auxiliary organization. As the District Commander's representative in all matters pertaining to the Auxiliary, the director keeps the District Commander advised of all circumstances and developments of interest as they pertain to the program.

We will be brilliant in the basics: Training, certifying, and supporting Auxiliary members so that they may achieve excellence in Recreational Boating Safety, Coast Guard and State Support, and Member Services.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to facilitate the needs of all our customers by fostering a spirit of cooperation and developing partnerships. We recognize the desire of the Auxiliary and search for new prospects that will motivate the Auxiliary membership to attain their potential. We train and certify the Auxiliary in areas that support our customers. We facilitate acceptance of the Auxiliary as a valued and respected component of Team Coast Guard.

Personal History

CDR Paige Keenan joins the District 11 Auxiliary Team from the Surface Forces Logistics Center Long Range Enforcer Product Line (SFLC LRE PL) in Oakland, California. While at SFLC LRE PL she was responsible for the coordination of Major Cutter Decommissioning and Foreign Military Sales for LRE assets and was the product line’s lead for future Acquisition Projects to include HEALY Midlife Maintenance Availability (MMA), POLAR STAR Service Life Extension Project and Polar Icebreaker (PIB) Project. Her branch was also responsible for the Dive Equipment Section Light and provided the CG Dive Program mission support throughout the Coast Guard.

Previous Coast Guard assignments include Surface Forces Logistics Center Icebreaker, Buoy and Construction Tender Product Line (SFLC IBCT PL) in Boston, MA, USCGC MACKINAW (WLBB 30) and USCGC CHASE (WHEC 718). She is a 2002 graduate of the Coast Guard Academy and received a Master’s of Science degree from the University of Michigan in 2008.

CDR Keenan is originally from Southern California and married to Kevin, who is stationed at Coast Guard Base Alameda in Alameda, CA. They have one son Tyler. CDR Keenan is pleased to be working with the Auxiliary in District 11, particularly because the Auxiliary's D11 Southern Region introduced her to the Academy Introduction Mission (AIM) program 22 years ago and started her on her path to the Coast Guard Academy!
